albertojgg
Hello everybody. I'm so excited about the new Helix Effects. I'm a M13 owner and keep investigating, reading and watching everything about this new toy. Here comes what I consider a very very interesting and important point for me and maybe for lot lot of users. I'll resume the thing to two questions: 1 - When using the 4th method cable in the new Helix Effects will allow me to select Analog true bypass? or like the M13 automatically when using 4th method cable defeats the possibility for true bypass? 2 - What will be the audible differences if I connect the new Helix Effects using the 4th method cable bypassing ALL THE EFFECTS and then connect the M13 using the 4th method cable bypassing ALL THE EFFECTS? I think the last question is one of the most important things in terms of audio quality. Any possibility that Digital Igloo will answer? phil_m
If you're using the 4 cable method, it means you're using one of the HXFX's effects loops, so, no true bypass won't work in that case. I mean, you could still get the unit to go into true bypass, but it would be passing the signal straight from the input to its output, thus bypassing your amp's preamp. Because the loops can be moved anywhere in the signal chain, they require AD/DA conversion. As far as the audio differences, those are hard to say. The HXFX is very transparent, and it offers flexibility as far signal levels for the inputs, outputs and loops that the M13 doesn't have.
