MattWicklund
I am a new POD HD 500X owner and I am really loving the unit and am having a lot of fun exploring it's capabilities. I am using it to finish pre-production demos for my new album and have been a bit frustrated with one particular issue. I am getting really quiet levels into Logic when I go Direct via USB connection. I downloaded the Ola's Fireballs Patch from the Customtone page and it is the perfect rhythm tone I was looking for but comes out much too quiet to be useable. I figure that I am just missing something or I have it set up wrong. When Ola demonstrated it with The Haunted on YouTube, it sounded amazing. Even with my faders cranked up and the mixer in the POD pushed up, it's not enough. The master volume on the POD doesn't seem to do anything either. Any help is appreciated!!! MattWicklund
Thanks for your reply! I did bring up the mixer levels and the amp levels and only get about two thirds of the way to a healthy, full signal. I know a lot of people use the "Ola's Fireballs" patch for metal rhythms and I know Ola is a master at his craft...that's another reason I found it strange that it was preset at such a low level. I must be doing something wrong...since I have turned up all of the levels in the signal path and it's still too low.
silverhead
In the Line 6 Audio-MIDI devices control panel there is a switch for a +18db boost that can be added to the usb signal. Try adding that boost.
andredamil
I have the same problem, even with the +18db boost it makes no difference. Is there anything that can be done? Thanks in advance.
vittogol
Remember to check pedal position is all way down. Then you can add or remove 18db on asio driver panel and set the recording volume level there too. I had the opposite problem of you. mcg182m
I had this issue as well. The solution was petty simple actually (though, this is for other people wondering, 'cause chances are you aren't going to be reading this reply to a year old post). The problem I had was that the input volume was low. If you're using a PC, you simply right-click your volume button, click "Recording Devices", right-click the POD, then go to Properties, and go to Levels. Check if the volume there is at 100%.
