fcbrugge
Hi Maybe a stupid question, but I'm a little confused about the 'routing' on my Spider IV amp. I want to create a slapback delay for playing rockabilly. I know all the required settings for the tape echo, but there is this 'routing' I don't really understand. I think it always sounded bad and blurry because I used the 'pre'-setting for the delay. It sounds more accurate with the 'post'-setting. Can anyone tell me what this 'routing' is all about and what is the best option for slapback delay in particular? Thanks.
fflbrgst
Typically, delays (and reverbs) are going to sound better with 'post' settings - meaning they are after the other preamp settings (like distortion, gain, etc) - if you use the 'pre' routing, you are sending the delayed clean guitar signal through the gain/distortion effects.
