aro0815
Hi guys, I'm thinking about getting myself the HX Effects (for my bass guitar) but I've got a question: Can you split the output signal to different jacks as you can do with the Helix? I'd like to have my clean signal come out of one output and another signal path with effects out of the other, so that I can always blend those on the PA for example. Also, how many signal paths can you have in the HX? As far as I know you can have up to 4 in the Helix. My dream would be to have my setup like this: Can I do this with the HX effects? Thanks in advance! Greetings, Alex
codamedia
There are only two paths in the HX Effects so what you have outlined above it not possible as it is written. However, you can insert a "send" anywhere you want. To accomplish your goal, just insert a send before the signal path split... that would be your clean tone.
aro0815
OK that sounds like a great solution. Thanks for your reply! Now I'll just wait for the desktop edit software update and then get myself an HX.
codamedia
IMO... there is absolutely nothing hidden on this unit that you need an online editor to access, and it is very easy to program. The basics are already there... patch management, IR Management & backup/restore. It just seems like an odd reason to deprive yourself from a great piece of gear. Then again, I grew up in the days of programming a Yamaha DX7 so nothing scares me - LOL!
aro0815
I've got the POD500x, so I'm not in a hurry. I love to edit my presets on my pc (probably because I grew up with one) while having Ableton opened so that I can immediately hear how it sounds in the mix. That's the setup I'm used to (having the POD on the floor aswell so I can use my feet to switch faster). I imagine the update will come soon. Until then I've got an excuse for not buying something I can't really afford right now :p

PC editing is just a bonus for me, not a must have. Having the ability to backup a unit without hand-writing 20 - 30 presets on paper is what I enjoy most - LOL! FYI: I use an HD500 along with my HX Effects..... I call it my "poor man's helix". I couldn't afford the Helix but this has allowed me to extend the HD500 for a few more years. The two make a great combination, especially since the HD500 is such a wonderful midi controller.
