Global analog dry guitar out with Variax and guitar input

I need an analog guitar output to run into my Digitech harmonizer so it can create harmonies that follow chords (a pretty typical setup).  I understand how to insert an output block into the beginning of the signal chain and route it to one of the analog sends, but that must be done for each individual patch.  Does anyone know of a way to do this globally so the dry signal is sent no matter what patch is selected?  This would allow the signal from either the Variax or a second guitar to be available to the harmonizer regardless of which I'm playing at the time.

 

The simple solution when using an analog guitar is to run the guitar directly into the guitar in on the harmonizer.  The harmonizer has a pass-through guitar out which is used to send the raw guitar signal to the guitar in on the Helix.  This can't be done with the digital Variax signal of course.  I haven't tried running the Variax signal to the Helix and the analog out from the Variax to the harmonizer, but that would require two separate cables from the Variax, a pretty cumbersome solution.  I'd also have to repatch for the second guitar each time I switched.

 

Since I assume signal routing is all done in the digital domain, perhaps a future firmware version could create a way to send the dry guitar signal to an analog send on a global basis (before it enters the patch signal chain).

There's no way to do it in a global manner. Doing it on a patch per patch basis as you're doing it is the only way.
