teolaai
So I recently bought a spider V 30 to learn some electric guitar ( exchange for the classic 15 - which I don't really like after buying). I don't have any of the problem with the last Spider classic 15 but the Spider V. Problem is that my guitar keeps making me feel tingling and sometimes shock (like the shock from touching the doorknob), I test it with the phase tester ( don't know the word but it looks like a screw driver) and it lit up as I touch the strings and also the some screws in the back also lit up. I'm living in Vietnam which has the 2 prongs socket instead of 3 ( but then again the Classic 15 doesn't give me any of the shock), I called the seller and they tell me that it's the way guitar amps work ( is it?). I don't know much about amp since I'm a newb , is it the faulty product or the grounding (some told me it;s the grounding problems)? Sorry for bad English. fflbrgst
Stop using this amp! There is something wrong in the wiring (the amp itself should have 3 wires to its power section - positive, negative and ground). Since you say you do not have '3 prong' wiring there, someone has probably wired up a 2 prong plug and attached the amp's ground wire to the negative 'prong'. teolaai
Thanks for the reply. But I still dont understand why the classic 15 doesnt shock me, but this one does. I will take pictures of the prongs plug and my amp as soon as i get home.
