Anybody here got to successfully create snapshots with the HX effects and the big sky together via midi?

I am looking to create snapshots Strymon Big Sky together with the HX effects. As newbie to MIDI, what are the things i need to know?
I don't even understand the lingos that are used to program this (instants, CCs, etc.)

For example when creating snap 1-4, every snap will have an entirely different sounds.

  • Snap #1 - Presets A with Big Sky's Room Reverb + On-board Effects
  • Snap #2 - Presets C with Big Sky's Bloom Reverb + On-board Effects
  • etc..

How do i make this happen? What are the steps i need to do?

If you want the Strymon to RECEIVE on the Helix Base Channel (default CH1), go into GLOBAL/MIDI and set MIDI PC SEND to OFF. That prevents Helix from sending the default PC# for that Helix Preset, and sends ONLY the PC# you set in Command Center as an Instant Command (don't forget to save the preset!).

OR

Set the Strymon to receive on a different channel than the Helix Base Channel, and set the Instant Command (IC) PC# to send on that channel.

ex: if Helix Base Channel = CH1, then set Strymon to receive on CH2 and Instant Command to send on CH2

In each Snapshot, in Command Center, set the IC that you're using to the PC# (and Channel) of the Strymon Preset you want for that Snapshot. SAVE! Repeat for each Snapshot.

If you're using multiple MIDI effects, set a different Channel and IC for each. Remember that Helix will only change a device's preset if you tell it to, so if you have the device on Channel 2 on Preset #012, and on the next Snapshot you use the same IC to send a PC# to the device on Channel 3, the Device on Channel 2 will not change it's preset.
