zguitar67
I have a Bogner Atma and am hoping to use one expression jack to switch the 3 channels. Is this a fantasy?
phil_m
The Atma's footswitch input is a single TRS jack, so, yes, you can do it with one expression jack, but if you want to be able to switch between all three channels, it will take two footswitches. The thing about the Atma is that it's not really a 3-channel amp (I own the combo version). It's more like a two channel amp where you can switch between the Crunch and Solo settings on Channel 2. So one footswitch, the one set to Tip, will switch from Channel 1 to Channel 2. The other footswitch will switch between Crunch and Solo. Whether the first footswitch goes from Channel 1 to Crunch or Channel 1 to Solo depends on what Channel 2 was set to before you went back to Channel 1. Besides the whole channel switching thing, the other reason I don't consider the Atma a true 3-channel amp is the fact that the Crunch and Solo settings share the same tone stack. So whatever you have the EQ for the Crunch set up for, that's what the Solo settings will be at. It's really just like Channel 2 has two different gain settings available to choose from.
