ajb1965 Posted June 2, 2019 Share Posted June 2, 2019 Hello All, I am worried that the straight end connector on my HX FX PSU is going to get kicked and wreck the adapter or unit because it sticks so far out from the back of the box. Does anyone know of a cable adapter that fits with a 90 degree? I know Truetone makes an L6 adapter cable, but I don't think the original PSU plug is going to fit into it because it's looking for a standard DC barrel size correct? Just thought I'd check with the big brains for any ideas :) Right now I just have it sitting further down on my board so it's not exposed out in the open, but I really need the space below it to put a couple more pedals on. I want to use the stock L6 power brick but I need an adapter cable that takes the connector to a 90 degree instead of the straight end that the stock one has. So you want to KEEP using the brick but have a 90 degree coupler on the end. Well that request might suck a bit. My understanding is the plug used is a 5.5 x 2.5mm plug. The vast majority of couplers I found online were designed to adapt to a 2.1 (the standard size for pedals) to a 2.5 mm (the L6 size) plug. You would want a 2.5 mm to 2.5 mm plug and usually I can find any plug in existence but I wasn't able to find anything I felt confidant about. I did run into some stuff that looked like do it yourself options so that might be something you could look into. I suppose I could always buy the TT plug and strip and solder it to another cable and make my own adapter as a last resort. Thanks for looking into it!
