Stressus
Do these effects units use the exact same code for the algorithms as the multi-fx units by line 6? e.g., is it better to get somethign like the POD HD for 500$ vs all the 4 button units(I think there is 5 of them) for about 1000$? I'm only considering sound quality there as I like 4 button units. I have a GT-10 and I'm not at all impressed with the sound but I do like the convenience. phil_m
Yes, they do use the same algorithms. The HD PODs use effects from the M-series pedals, and those effects are the same effects from the 4-button stomps. The other thing is that having all the effects together in one pedal such as the HD500 or 500X makes it possible to sync time-based effects together. This isn't possible with the 4-button stomps. AndyParedesMusic
+1 to Phil. The reccomendation really depends on what your application will be. If you need amp modeling and/or direct recording along with effects then the POD HD would be the best direction. However; if you are more interested in purely "effects" and keeping your traditional amp setup then the M9 or M13 may be the better choice, as you will have more direct control over the parameters (right in front of you rather than scrolling through menus). EA5150
I recently purchased a DL4, which I've wanted for year. I was having problems w/ the Line 6 website but now have that fixed, I guess. At any rate, what I want to know is this: I see that on the DL4 the first 3 buttons are presets, which you can store & change. Is that 3 TOTAL presets? i.e. you can't turn to one delay setting & get 3 new presets, etc? Also, how do I simply turn on/off the effects on the DL4? If I'm using a delay on want it to drop off entirely, what the heck do I step on? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

This really should go in this forum, http://line6.com/support/forum/43-stompbox-modelers-tonecore/, but, yes you have 3 total presets with the DL4. There are default settings for each delay model when you turn the model knob to bring that particular model up, but you can't change those settings. They're really just starting points. If you want to turn the delay off, you simply step on the switch for the preset that is on at the time.
