HX Stomp issues

Hello, I've bought a HX Stomp a few weeks ago. It's very easy to use, the sounds are really good, and overall it's a great unit.

However, I do have a couple of issues.

1. There is a noticeable lag when switching between presets. I play a lot of songs where the guitar suddenly goes from clean to distorted and vice versa, so I'd like the switch to be instant. I used to play through an old non Line 6 multieffect that had awful sounds, but at least it switched instantly as soon as I pressed the pedals. Please note that my presets are really simple, most of them have just Delay, Reverb and Amp+Cab.

2. The pitch shifters don't agree with clean sounds. My guitar is tuned in E standard, but I use the Simple Pitch effect to detune it and play some songs in Eb and D standard. It's ok with distorted sounds, but completely unusable with clean sounds, as it produces a lot of buzzing and artifacts, especially when playing open strings. I'm not sure if you get the idea, if not I can provide audio samples.

Is anyone else having these issues or is it just me?

Thank you.

There is a gap when switching presets, yes. This is one of the main reasons for snapshots. I'd suggest you take a look at that chapter in the manual to get an understanding of what they offer. They will allow to switch seamlessly and instantaneously between drastically different settings within a preset.

As far as the pitch shifting, it isn't polyphonic. Some people have had some success with downtuning a whole or half step, like you said, but it's kind of not designed for that. Polyphonic shifting is one of the things that should be coming in a future firmware update.

Thank you for your reply.

I'm already using snapshots to switch from my rhythm sound to my lead sound, which is exactly the same, but has more volume and added delay and reverb. However, I also need to swich from and to my clean sound which uses completely different amp and effects. Unless I missed something, this doesn't seem possible with snapshots, only with presets. I really hope Line 6 will fix that lag with a future update.

I'm also looking forward to the polyphonic pitch shifter. The current pitch shifter is fine with distortion unless I downtune more than 4 steps (which I normally don't because I don't play extreme metal). When downtuning only 1/2 step I would even say it's the best pitch shifters I've ever used (again, only with distortion). It's a shame it doesn't work well with clean sounds.
