journeyman73 Posted April 18, 2020 Share Posted April 18, 2020 Does anyone know if possible to connect Floor to Helix Rack (instead of the Rack Control) and use the Floor as an extension of Rack? are you definitively stuck in needing to EITHER use Floor standalone from Rack, or vice-versa? phil_m Posted April 18, 2020 Share Posted April 18, 2020 You could use the Floor as a MIDI controller for the Rack, but it would not give you nearly the same functionality as the Helix Control with the Rack. It would also be a relatively painful and tedious process programming the Floor to control the Rack, depending on how detailed of control you want. With the Control, everything is much more automatic. One way to think about is that the Helix Rack and Control are designed to give you the same sort of hardware control as the Floor (minus the on-board pedal, of course), but just broken out into two physical pieces. journeyman73 Posted April 18, 2020 Author Share Posted April 18, 2020 Thanks Phil - I realize its a trivial matter but if the Control had the built in expression, so that everything was just neat and tidy I would probably forego the floor (recognizing the main drawback of that point would be needing to go over to where the Rack was to do any heavy editing requiring the screen)... i like the idea of having the ‘brain’ up off the floor, so maybe i will just have to suck up a separate exp pedal...
