al_eebee
I'm sure I have probably just looked in the wrong place, but in Tracktion Waveform when I set a patch in Native and save the song the patch is not saved as part of the edit. When I come back to reopen the song the patch will have defaulted back to USER1 patch 1A, annoying if one have set up a new patch and has to go back each time to reload it. Any ideas what I should do to make the selected patch save as part of a Song Edit? Maybe this is just a 'feature' in Tracktion?
soundog
Well, I just took a quick look at the manual, and there is lots of stuff in there on e.g. "Save Selected Plugins as Preset" or "Saving Presets" etc. I'm not a Tracktion Waveform user so not sure what's up. Is it just HXN that's behaving this way in Tracktion, or any of your third-party plug-ins?. FYI, in my DAW (Logic) plug-in settings (including Helix Native) are automatically saved with the songs, which is the way it should be. But to be double sure I can always reload a HXN preset, I usually also save them to disk from within HXN (naming them to match song title, etc). That's just insurance in case I change stuff in Native later, a system crash, lost files, switching DAWs, etc.
al_eebee
Thanks. I suspect it's a 'feature' in Waveform, allied to the fact that manuals are for wimps, so I haven't read it :) Other plugins seem Ito keep what I set them at, it's just Native so far as I can tell I shall persevere and also see what happens in Reaper, though I just find Waveform generally easier for what I want to do
soundog
....good luck, keep us posted. I used Tracktion in the early days (I think it started as a Mackie product) and thought it was pretty cool!
