Chris2901
Hi all, I’m looking at getting an amp for playing live into, I know the 500x can go direct into a PA system but I’m looking at an amp as I can play at home still with the same sound but what amp? I’d been looking at a Fender Hotrod Deville amp and a VOXAC30VR but I don’t know do I need either or would a ‘cheaper’ alternative be just as good. I used to have a Laney LC50 valve amp and it sounded unreal as it was so powerful and loud with my old Korg FX unit. I love the distortion on the 500x with the Plexi Bright head but I’m unsure how it’d all work or if I could get that sound through another amp? pianoguyy
DO NOT BUY A GUITAR AMP Get yourself a keyboard amp (always get 2 for stereo). Get some floor monitors. Get studio monitors. Get an FRFR. PA-on-a-stick (which is probably the same as the floor monitors, but with the free stand). But do not buy a guitar amp.
Chris2901
Any good recommendations on keyboard amps?
pianoguyy
No. How much power you need for any given situation is up to you. Plus, I would just hop on your local Craigslist and see what is available. The point is - you want something 'clean'. Not something colored. Modelers replicate the color. Color on top of color defeats the purpose.
