When requesting assistance it’s advisable to supply as much info as possible, such as your computer and OS and what hardware you are asking about. Simply saying “all presets are empty” is not very revealing. Empty presets in what? Helix floor or Rack, Helix LT, HX Stomp or HX FX? First check that you are using HX Edit 3.0. If necessary you can reinstall your presets from the backup you made prior to updating, You did make a backup, didn’t you? Now preform a factory reset for the particular product where “all presets are empty”. You will find the reset process for your unit here: Hope this helps/makes sense. jp88mm
I have the same issue. I am using and iMac High Sierra 10.13.6. HX Edit 3.01. Followed the Update Download Prompts. Completed a back up. Completed the update. Waited as it stated it was uploading the presets. Waited. Waited. Waited. Waited........ My HX Effects now has 3.02. But all of my presets are blank- gone! nothing. Attempted to reinstall the back up. And that is "greyed out". unable to select. What am I missing? Can anyone instruct me in detail how to reinstall my back up? PLEASE! if not I lost EVERYTHING! Please and Thanks!
datacommando
6 hours ago, jp88mm said: What am I missing? HX Effects: Turn unit off and then turn back on. Hold Footswitch 6 and Tap throughout the boot process, until you see that your factory presets are loading. If you run into any trouble with a failed update or your unit will not boot up, try powering on while holding the right arrow ">" This will put the unit into update mode and you can re-install the latest firmware from there. Hope this helps/makes sense.
DJ5D
For a hardware device, backup before update is required-no way around that. However if its the Helix Native software as a plugin in a DAW, there is hope. I updated mine to 3.15 and panicked because my setlists and presets went back to factory default, but as soon as i opened a recent session of Ableton Live, they all magically reappeared. Somehow the DAW remembered everything in that session, even the ALL the settings in Helix Native, and from that point forward even new instances remembered them too. So with the hardware, like the Stomp or Helix Floor, you GOTTA make regular backups with HX edit, or suffer the consequences.
