HX Effects - Are bank switches always in the way?

Hey all-

I was considering the HX Effects as a MIDI hub for my pedalboard. Using an H9, Big Sky, and Timeline with it.

The unit looks great, but it seems like it really only has 4 usable switches because of the banks.

I saw the Helix got more footswitch customization in a recent update, but does that not apply to the HX Effects? I'd want to use all 6 switches as instant access to block states in the unit itself, or my external pedals.

Is there anyway to bank it with an external controller? Seems like the flexibility of the unit is really compromised since banking it takes up real estate that could be used for control!

Hey bgrizzmayne,
you can use 6 footswitches as instant access to your blocks in stomp mode.
It is also possible to assign multible blocks and actions to one switch and change their state in different snapshots.
There is a loit of editing and configuration possibilities in the unit.
Check out latest manual-version for a good overview.
Also, look there for midi command options.
The six switches are also additionally midi-cmd opted in stomp-mode.
With the fuctionality of the different modes and programmable commands and switches you should find everything you need.
