More than 6 Effects to a Preset

Looking for some help that I can't seem to find in the manual.  Brand new with a Line 6 HX Effects unit and it says you can add up to 9 Effects to a preset but I cannot find anywhere in the manual that tells you how to add more than the six that are associated with the six stomp switches.  Anybody know where I can find out how to do this?  Thanks.

Well, you can assign more than one effect to a single footswitch if you want. There are some effects, like the wahs, for instance, that you typically wouldn't assign to a footswitch (you can turn them on and off based on the position of an attached expression pedal). Beyond that, there's four snapshots per preset, which allow you to save and recall the bypass states of all the effects in a presets.

 

So, I guess the answer is that if you're looking for a way to have 9 blocks and 9 switches controlling them, there's no way to do that apart from using an external MIDI controller. But ultimately, the 9 blocks are there to give you more flexibility. You'll probably find that you don't need a bypass switch for every effect in a preset, and you might want to use Stomp Mode switches for other things. The HX Effects is really a different paradigm than the M9 and M13 pedals in that regard.
