jackie1950
I used the amplifi 150 at a gig at Mardi Gras last night in Galveston Texas. The amplifier sounded great at what was really a very high-volume. My only question is about how hot the amplifier should get. The backplate where all of the connections are gets very hot during use and cooled off during break. Just wondered if this was a normal function. charlyg
Can't say for sure, but it does have a Hot warning on it. I was kinda surprised there were no fins on the 150. I have left mine on overnight idling(I forget sometimes..), and it was pretty warm, but not what I'd call hot.
Rowbi
I don't know for sure, but often a rear amp chassis with a solid state amp will be part of the amplifier chip heatsink. Some do have find but sometimes that's not needed if the external surface area is enough. It's obviously different to solid state - but of course tube amps can get quite hot where parts of the amps are near to the tubes... Combos particularly... They work just fine :-) Sounds like it worked well while gettin hot - sounds fine to me. If you're worried - perhaps email L6 tech support and ask specifically.
