hell4real
First of all i need to say that up until now i just played my guitar though a regular amp so i'm new to all of this musical equipment. So i recently purchased pod 500x and i have a few problems connecting everything. I want my monitors to be connected to my pc and the pod at the same time so i could hear them both. I don't want to use the pod as my sound card and connect the monitors to the pod because the master volume on the pod controls the volume of the pc and the pod but if i lower the the volume on the pc only the pc signal will lower and the output from the pod will stay the same, and i don't really want to adjust the volume on the pod and bend under my desk each time . I also want to connect my headphones the same way . Someone told me that the solution might be to buy a small mixer and to connect my headphones and my monitors to the output and my pc and pod and mic to the input, and control the volume from there. will it really work? if it does how do i connect my pc to it? can someone reccommend a small cheap mixer that will do the job? or is there other solution ? Another thing is that i will buy studio monitors in order to use them with the pod and the pc. How will i connect them with the mixer ? balanced or unbalanced? xlr? or other way? radatats
you can go into windows sound properties and tell it to use the computer's sound card for playback and the POD for recording. However, if you want to hear your POD now you will have to use a DAW and setup recording tracks and monitor that way... plenty of small mixers out there under $100 that will do the job... you can connect the monitors to the mixer either way, doesn't really matter...
