wgdenge
Fellow Helix Users, as a new-ish helix user who is discovering all that Helix can do, I am lost in figuring this out. I am using the guitar and aux inputs on my PRS Hollowbody Piezo, with one line to pickups and other to piezo. I figured out how to switch between inputs using snapshots, but I would like to set up one switch in stomp mode to toggle between guitar and aux. Can someone point me in right direction? Thanks! rd2rk
In CommandCenter, just set up a Stomp to go to that snapshot. Set it so that PRESS selects the Snapshot and HOLD returns you to the PREV Snapshot.
wgdenge
won't that drop me into snapshot mode? I would like to stay in stomp mode with one button to toggle inputs.
rd2rk
No. You're just assigning a FS in STOMP mode to toggle a Snapshot, it doesn't switch modes.
wgdenge
While on this topic, is there any other way to toggle inputs on a foot switch..
rd2rk
Depends on your needs. If you don't care about the auto impedance feature, instead of using the regular inputs you could use two FX Loop Returns. Set them to one FS and save the preset with one ON and the other OFF. You'd want to set the Input block to something you're not using to prevent extraneous noise from the unused input. Another (better) possibility would be to use the Guitar Input for the mag pups (input block set to Guitar), then send the Piezo to an FX Loop Return. Add a RETURN Block. Pull the RETURN Block down to create a Split Path. At the MIX Block, assign both A and B Level Parameters to a FS. In the BYPASS/CONTROLLER ASSIGN Screen, set the MIN/MAX Values for the two levels opposite one another. This retains the auto-impedance function for the mags (where it matters) and allows for separate FX chains in both paths. Set the Output Block to Path 2A. By putting separate amps in a Split on Path 2 and setting the Split Block to A/B and the same FS that separates the Inputs, whichever pickup's signal comes into Path 2 is routed to an FX Chain specific to that pickup. This is kinda complicated, so I've attached a demo preset. FS 11 does all the switching. The Mag FX are on the Top Row in Stomp Mode, the Piezo FX on the Bottom Row. This is a pretty DSP heavy preset, so the amps and FX I picked are just what I could fit quickly, and the FX are just the defaults. There may be a better way to do this, but this is what I came up with on short notice. It would also be possible to combine the pickups by doing all of this with Snapshots, but now it's time for dinner! Let me know if you have questions. rd2rk
The first version I sent was adapted from an existing HXStomp preset. Here's a simpler Version. Input Switch2.hlx
