777funk
I can load the plugin but can't use it since it doesn't register (since it can no longer connect to the net). Is there another way to get it to verify? I have the hardware that it comes with (Toneport UX1 and also have a UX2). Shouldn't my Toneport act as a dongle to automatically authorize the plugin? I would have never expected that authorizing something I paid for is so difficult in 2022.
777funk
I opened a ticket on this and unfortunately Line 6 no longer allows their plugin to authorize (it phones home via the internet and they have turned the service off). They should at the least, just open authorization up permanently in some way to those who own the hardware... kind of stinks that they'd do it like this. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Because of this, I won't be buying any more Line 6 hardware and selling off all of what I have other than the Echo Park delay (designed by the owner of Merris effects). I'd sell that too but it's really the only thing I can't live without that Line 6 has made to date. Nothing else I've found comes close to that tape mode. P1 Tape Delay (free plugin) is pretty close though. Bummer because Line 6 does make a decent product. It's just the support that's a bummer. I purposefully don't use Reason versions that phone home. The old versions have most of the sound possibilities and are forever installed with no possibility of them no longer supporting phone home registration every time it loads. In my opinion, this is like the reverse of "cracked software". Cracked software is the customer stealing from the vendor. On the flip side, discontinuing the ability to login and use software that was purchased (software that was not sold with an expiration date and assumed allowed to be used as long as the hardware dongle (Toneport) is working), is the vendor stealing from the customer. Neither case is fair or right.

Neither case is fair or right. I agree. I spent a LOT of money on buying all the model packs. My Toneport was upped to the max. Now because somebody out there has decided that I can't authorise anymore, my whole rig us useless. NEVER Line6 again! This is disgusting.
