comptroller
So, I am very inexperienced in just about everything here. Music, amps, equipment, sound engineering, electronics, everything. So talk to me like I’m 5. When I was a teenager, I had my dad’s ax2 212 in my room and messed around with it every now and then when I was just ebbing on my intro to music. When I moved out, the amp came with me and ended up in storage for 7 years unused. I finally dig it out after a recent renewal of music interest and I’m trying to get it up and running. Any time I turn the amp on it will be quiet for 1-2 seconds and then give the loudest pop/crackle/static sound. Even if all knobs are at 0 and nothing but the pedal plugged in (via the cat5 cable). I haven’t tried keeping it on for longer than a few seconds because I have shared wall neighbors and sleeping babies. I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions on how I can go about troubleshooting this nostalgic amp to try to salvage it.
psarkissian
An older product like that, solder joints will be oxidizing and intermittent contacts will occur. Needs to be taken to a Line 6 authorized service center. https://line6.com/find/service_center/
