Pod Go amp connection

Hey all. I recently purchased a Pod Go and a Fender Champion 100 and I'm wondering what the best connection method would be in my specific case. I'm new to the world of multi effects units and have no experience with FX loops. The stock tones don't sound right and I think it might be due to the way I have it connected. Should I be using the 4 cable method? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your Fender amp is itself a modeling amplifier so the main issue you are facing is the potential to have both devices applying their modeling to your guitar signal. That won’t sound good.

The best way to handle that is to use 4CM (see POD Go manual for cabling setup) and make sure that your POD Go presets are constructed to ensure that only one set of amp models are used at a time. This is accomplished by enabling or disabling the FX Loop in your POD Go preset. When you use a POD Go amp model in your preset disable the FX Loop (which blocks the signal from going through your Fender’s amp modeling section). When you want to use the Fender amp model do not include an amp model in your POD Go preset and enable the FX Loop.

Also, your POD Go presets should never include a Cab/IR because you will always be using the Fender cab for output.
