jackwenstrup
I am playing with a new band and want to automate my presets to change in time with our backing tracks. The band has sent me their backing track sessions which are set up in Pro Tools. Can anyone walk me through how to accomplish this? Every tutorial I see online is using Ableton or Studio One and I have never used any of Pro Tools MIDI capabilities before so I'm not even sure where to start. I get the gist of what needs to get done, but am lost on how to make it happen via Pro Tools. Any help would be great!

I am able to use a "program change" in pro tools midi event editor to select the right setlist. My problem is now that I need to select different presets in that setlist throughout the song. Everything I read online says, "If you want to change Presets via MIDI, send a PC message with the displayed value", and that is where I'm having trouble. I'm not sure what a PC message is and how to send it rather than a CC message. The only options I have in MIDI event editor are the ones attached below. If I use "program change" then it changes the setlist and nothing happens if I use "controller". I just need to know how to make a PC change in the MIDI editor.
