Aford015
I am working on a Rickenbacker 12 string patch. I started with the Beatles patch by Richie Castellano ( Line 6 Dream Rig - Beatles 12 String Sound - YouTube ) I also read through this thread on the Line 6 Community Forum: (https://line6.com/support/search/?&q=harmonizer&type=forums_topic&page=2&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy) To get a truer sound of a 12 string, I was thinking about utilizing the harmonizer effect. Any thoughts or suggestions?
codamedia
FYI... You are in the HELIX forum, and that video is about using a VARIAX and HD500. Maybe you should post this question in the HD forums. Aside from that... IMO, a harmonizer will not get you a more realistic 12 string than the VARIAX will. A harmonizer is going to put an octave on every string... but that's not how a 12 string works where the high E and B are actually unison strings... only the bottom 4 are octaves. A harmonizer can't distinguish that difference, and therefore "everything" is processed with an octave. I usually like Ritchies videos, but I can't say that was a very good endorsement of the Variax. With a little tweaking, they can sound much more realistic :) Just my 2 cents.
