HD500x randomly changing settings without asking

Hi,

My HD500x is changing on the view screen from large view to dials view, seemingly at random. When it does this, I can't change patches and it is actually changing the output settings (volume and tone etc) by itself! it's messing up gigs now and I'm losing a lot of faith.

I've done the hold left and plug it in thing but that's not fixing it.

It started when I was at a gig and my singer did not hear the "don't" part of "don't unplug that one!". She pulled out the top part of the ridiculously poorly designed power supply, blew the fuses at the venue and electrocuted herself in the process.

I saw the elements were blackened and there was a burning smell, I put the thing back together and that's when the problem started. I clawed my way through the gig and ordered another power supply the next day. No fix, same problem.

The direction left whilst plugging it in did seem to work for a bit, couple of gigs ok... Then the 500x fell from the back of my car onto a kerb when I was unloading at a gig and it all started again.

Went through the same process but no joy this time. :'(

I've intensively searched and I can't find if anyone else has ever had this problem, really hope someone can help or it's going in the bin!

Usually it is the power supply. You bought one, which I assume was bought direct from L6 and not from a Chinese company selling knockoffs on Amazon for $1.

Next step would be to do a factory reset... which the 500 does not have, but there is a process we call factory reset.

It involves flashing the software and doing the system reset including pedal calibration.

But the problem here is - you later dropped it.

Short of taking it to "a trained service technician", there's no way for anyone to know if problem one and problem two are the same problem or if they are different problems with similar symptoms.
