LeanderLeitner
Hey! I am really angry now...I wanted to reamp the POD XT to test DI guitar tracks...not because I want to use my old tone (as I have better tones now), but just for testing...now my 800€ speakers don't work properly...the POD XT destroyed them with a very loud beeping noise and a bluescreen of death! :( Awesome... What I did: I installed the POD XT, then used it as my main audio device in Win7 settings...it was connected via USB. I did not hear any sound...as only the POD XT was connected to my computer, but my speakers were connected to my regular audio device...so I thought I would have to connect my speakers to my POD. Was this a mistake? With the POD XT still being connected to my computer, I connected my speakers (L and R) to my POD's L and R output (the POD was shut off)...when connected, I switched the POD on, immediately got the insanely loud beeping and a bluescreen of death. The POD XT was set to "reamping" as I wanted to test things with DI tracks. What did I do wrong? How do you connect your POD and use its tones for DI tracks? Now my speakers are dead...not dead, they will work, but there is a low-level noise in both of them...bad luck or was I stupid?
silverhead
My guess is that your volume was too high when the signal hit your speakers. When your POD connects to your computer via USB it becomes your computer’s soundcard. There are two relevant volume controls - the one that controls the level sent from your computer to the POD Inputs (controlled by your computer’s volume level) and the one that controls the level sent form the POD outputs to the speakers (the POD’s main volume control). Your setup with the speakers connected to your POD’s outputs is correct. But before sending a signal to your speakers you need to ensure that the volume is appropriate. Turn down the POD’s main volume control before you turn it on, the adjust the level upward. Use not the computer and POD volumes when you need to balance the volume of your guitar connected to the POD with playback from the computer. LeanderLeitner
I had a normal volume set. The usual volume I use to play...I think I also had "input echo on" in my Cakewalk DAW...I don't know what happened. 800€ wasted. Maybe the POD XT no longer works as it should, is too old or whatever...because sometimes when I connected it to my Motu M4 audio device, I could play normally, sometimes it did not work at all and sometimes I had strange feedback and delay noises.
