HX Effects - separate loop and live signal (bi-amping)

Hello everyone,

I'm on the verge of purchasing an HX Effects unit and I could use some guidance for a particular setup.

I use two amplifiers and wish to fully separate the live and looped guitar signals. I want to route the loop-only signal to Amp 1 (excluding the live guitar) and direct the live guitar to Amp 2 (excluding the loop). I'm considering splitting the path, putting a looper block on Path A and a volume block before it. However, I need to know if I can also assign multiple actions to the looper footswitches. For instance, when I begin playing the looped signal, I want to simultaneously activate the volume block (set to 0) and when I stop the loop playback, the volume block should return to 100. I understand that it's possible to toggle multiple effects with a single footswitch but I'm not sure about the functionalities of looper switches.

I apologize if my explanation seems complicated. Essentially, I aim to use the looper in a live bi-amping scenario with fully separated signals: routing the loop to Amp 1 and the live guitar to Amp 2, all without the need for complicated footwork. Or could there be a different approach aside from using a volume block before the looper block?

I appreciate any insights, looking forward to hearing from you.

It's possible. You need to manually add the looper functions (Undo, Start/Stop etc) to the footswitches in Command Center. You then can add bypass or controller assigns for other blocks to those footswitches.

The negative with this is that looper functions are always shown - you can't hide it like with the standard 6 Switch Looper Footswitch mode.

@Schmalle thank you for your help and sorry for my late reply. I finally own an Hx Effects and I already added looper functions to footswitches in Command Center. But I'm still struggling to add bypass for other blocks to the same looper footswitches. Maybe I expressed myself incorrectly, I'd like to multi-assign a footswitch that already has a looper function assigned to it. For example, when I press a footswitch with the looper function that starts playback the same footswitch should also enable/bypass a volume block. Is it even possible to multi-assign footswitches with looper functions? My main goal is to separate the live signal and loop, routing my live guitar to amp 1 and only the the looped signal to amp 2. Sorry if I'm stupid, I'm new to the game.
