gobygoo
Hi, I'm currently working on covering Pantera's Cemetery Gates live, and one thing I'm struggling with is the harmonics at the end of the song. This is what I mean for people who don't know the song: I know that this can be achieved with proper technique, but I haven't been able to reliably do this just with a high gain tone, and I don't have the time or motivation to make it work this way. So, I'd like to fake it with the HX Stomp :) Basically, I think what would serve me best is a two octave up pitch shifter, along with infinite sustain. So far I got the best results with the new "Feedbacker" effect (really cool BTW!), but it is a bit difficult to control, as it seems to be aimed towards emulating a constant speaker feedback rather than a moving note. Appreciate any advice!
theElevators
You simply need a lot of distortion and active pickups. But this sounds like studio trickery.... Try to use the pitch wham effect that you can control with your expression pedal (if applicable). Otherwise, set it to 2 octaves higher, crank the distortion, and that could be close enough if you get feedback and use the whammy. Also you could try to use the feedbacker block as well. Thanks! somehow missed you response. Thing is, my bridge pickup is passive, and not particularly hot. I messed around with both the pitch shifter and the feedbacker, and they both sound too weird for different reasons. I ended up settling on assigning one of the buttons to a combination of noise gate cancellation + huge volume and gain increase in the amp + huge volume increase post amp, and doing the actual harmonics.Tthat turns out sort of ok. Hopefully I'll improve at doing this in time :)
