MAKory
From the manual: *TIP: There is a handy trick you can perform directly on your POD Go device to change the default state of all “New Presets”... Dial in a preset exactly how you like it and from the device’s Save Preset screen, hold ACTION and press Knob 5 (Save). Now every “New Preset” will be your custom default preset. You’ll have a great starting point to create new original tones. I've tried this and it doesn't seem to be working. After pressing Knob 5 there is no confirmation that anything happened, and all of the New Presets remain the factory defaults.
silverhead
Did you begin with a factory-supplied New Preset before ‘dialing it in’? I expect you’d need to do that, and retain the New Preset name.
MAKory
No to both questions (I started with a "hacked" preset removing the FX Loop), but I just tried a much simpler test case. I added a Looper to a blank block on a New Preset, saved it without changing the name, and then did the "New Preset default state" procedure. It doesn't work either. MAKory
I tried doing a factory reset after backing the unit up. Then the procedure works. I reloaded my backup. Now it doesn't work. Grrrrrrr....
MAKory
I found a work-around if anyone else has this same problem. 1. Do a backup 2. Unplug USB, then do a factory reset (Power up holding down the C & D footswitches). 3. Create your default state New Preset (it can have a different name). 4. On the Save screen, hold down Action and press Knob 5. 5. Reload your backup. Even after reloading the backup, all of the New Presets remain with all of your tweaks.
