Footswitch LFS2

Today I received my Catalyst 100. Great clean sound for the money. What I don't get is why the footswitch does not trigger the Boost function.  Channel switching has too much latency and sound difference for practical use in my opinion. Maybe in a next update? Glad that I have a MIDI controller ;-)

You set the function of the switches in the app.

Global Settings (the gear icon), then at the bottom of the drop-down choose the switch you want to configure and select from the list.

The gap between channels is the same whether I use MIDI or the FS.

Remember, you are not switching analog channels. Calling them CHANNELS is a bit misleading IMO. It's a marketing thing.

You are actually switching PRESETS. It takes a moment to UNLOAD the CURRENT PRESET from memory and LOAD the NEW PRESET into memory.

This also introduces the problem that if you switch channels while a note is ringing out, depending on the FX/OD level, strange noises could ensue.

Since you have a MIDI controller (assuming it's a good one) you may be able to work around the gap problem by changing things within the channel/preset vs switching.

I messed around with this a bit when I first got mine but decided it was too much trouble. I just don't switch channels while a note is ringing.

Works for me!

What's your budget and what EXACTLY do you want to be able to do?

The FCB1010 is cheap if you have the real estate for it.

The Ampero Control can do a lot for cheap and it's small.

I use my Helix or HXS, and also have an FCB1010.

Which midi controller do you use? I bought footswitch, but going to return it as functionality is very limited.

I use the Morningstar MC3. The web based editor is great and easy to use. However the Catalyst is not as functional as my HX stomp but theywork great together.

The MC3 is a great choice.

How do you mean "not as functional as my HX stomp"?

I mean in particular the latancy between banks/amp models. In the Stomp I can use two amp different models simultaneously or switch between them without annoying delay.
