derums
I saw some old posts that some guys had managed to build a diy charger for g10/g10ii transmitters. That way you can use any usb port to charge the transmitters. I've given it a go myself by cutting the lead to a 5v usb and soldering hot (red) to the tip and ground (black) to the ring portion of a mono cable. It didn't work.. Anyone know if this wont work because I need a stereo female jack? I appreciate anyone giving me info on how the g10 takes a charge. I understand all of this is at my own risk. cage771
You need a stereo jack. Tip will still be signal. Ring is likely the positive voltage. Sleeve will probably be both signal ground and negative voltage. Don't quote me on that....but it makes the most sense.
abteenz
I built this and it works. Ring is positive and sleeve is ground. However I believe that devices like the G10 receiver or THR30II do have some sort of other signaling going on with the transmitter while it's charging because the transmitter blinks red, orange and green while charging based on the percentage of the battery that it managed to charge. but the DIY is always green and you have to pull it on time. I guess it will reduce the life of the battery.
