aifrecords
does phantom power have to be engaged on mackie board? I have mackie board coming out of my krk monitor speakers and never had a problem with the speakers. I was afraid of frying something so i left phantom power off. It WILL play out of an amp but NOT when xlr out goes to xlr in of mackie board, do i have to change the internal output settings? its already internally configured to output of studio/direct on pod hd500x. frustrating, second problems with this unit
silverhead
No, you do not need phantom power; you’re correct to leave it off. The studio/direct output setting is correct. I can’t see anything wrong with your HD500X settings; seems to me that you should be getting sound from the XLR outputs. Try headphones just to test. Does the sound appear there? If your preset uses parallel paths check the Mixer block to make sure the Volume levels are not zero. Is this a new issue? Have you successfully used the XLR outputs before?
