tomgaydos
So I just got a new HX Effects unit to pair with my Catalyst 100 amp. But now I'm absolutely stymied as I cannot locate the HX Edit app. Catalyst edit showed up immediately in the app store and was a breeze to connect and use, but my iPad Pro will not see the HX Edit app in the app store. Am I missing something?
rd2rk
HX Edit does not run on mobile devices and is available for MAC and PC on the Line6 Website.
tomgaydos
Oh that never even occurred to me as an option since Catalyst Edit is available for iOS. That's nuts. What are they doing? I'll have to return the HX Effects and get a BOSS unit since I know they have Tone Studio on iOS from my Katana bass amp. I just don't know if that'll be able to control the Catalyst in the same way. The only non-iPad I have is my work Macbook Pro and I can't install anything on that. You'd think Line 6, of all companies, would be able to handle software in a modern way. Thank you for the reply. rd2rk
AFAIK, it can't. You should check the MIDI capabilities of whatever you decide on. The HXFX Snapshot functions are very useful and powerful in that regard. When I got my Cat I picked up an old iPad for $100 on Craigslist. HXEdit doesn't require much of a computer, you can likely get a basic PC for cheap.
