Jharrismsu
I'm somewhat of a novice, but I wanted to hook up my Klon KTR externally to my Helix LT. I created a block using the effects loop, ran a cable from Send 1 to the input on the Klon, and another cable from the out of the Klon to Return 1 on the Helix. The Klon is turned on. I get no sound when I click the FX Block on the Helix. I get sound when it is not engaged. What did I screw up? What do I do? Thank you! silverhead
Check the Mix parameter on the FX Loop block. Here’s its description from the manual: Blends the FX loop signal vs. the dry signal passed through the FX Loop block. When set to 0%, the path bypasses the FX loop completely. When set to 100%, the entire path is fed through the FX loop, and no dry thru signal is heard. (This means that if you don’t currently have your external gear connected to the Send & Return jacks, you won’t hear any output signal unless you bypass the FX Loop block!) Jharrismsu
Thank you! It solves one problem but creates another. When I turn the mix down to zero, I now get sound. Now however, the sound is the same whether I engage the FX loop footswitch or not. The same is true if I set the mix to 50% or 0%. It's like the Klon is engaged no matter what. In addition, the tone and gain control on the Klon make zero difference no matter how extreme I adjust them. Is there some other setting I need to tweak? silverhead
Have you tested your cables?
Jharrismsu
You are a genius! In a million years, I never would have suspected the cables. I can't thank you enough!
silverhead
You're welcome. Basic checklist troubleshooting. Here's a tip - for your safety and ours never consider becoming a pilot! (just kidding...)
Jharrismsu
Ha! I tried swapping out pedals, swapping out guitars, swapping out power supplies......swapping out cables was not on my radar! I will avoid becoming a Pilot, Doctor, or Quality Control expert. Thank you again!
