schilcur
After snapping a cable plug in the input jack....I've decided I can't be trusted not to trip over cables any more. I like the Relay G10's, but they're not robust enough for live gigs. I have used a pair of 5.8Ghz transmitter/receiver units live before, and they worked ok. But I thought I'd upgrade to a semi-professional unit. I went with a Shure BLX system. I have both a Spider V 120 and HC240 head with matching cab. Use depends on the gig size, but I figured the Shure would work with both. Turns out, not exactly. I'll spare you the details, but the Shure receiver has to be a certain distance away from the Spider V input jack, which is directly connected to a circuit board assembly that is likely the antenna for the Relay G10. If the Shure is within a couple feet of the jack....no sound. If I move it 6 feet away, it starts working. Just a heads up for anyone thinking about dropping some cash for a wireless system. Find one that uses a different frequency band than the G10 transmitters. I'm still going to use the Shure system, as it has multiple frequencies available, and will search the bandwidth at your gig site to find the optimal frequency.
