Bought a new HX Stomp XL, questions about signal routing

Pretty steep learning curve for me, but I'm starting to understand some basic concepts.

I'm using it on a small grab & go board (PT Novo 18) and the primary function currently is for the time-based effects. When I have more time with the device, I'm going to set up some amp sounds so it can be used for direct gigs, fly dates, etc

My signal chain goes Gtr->compressor + two drive pedals->HX Stomp XL->volume pedal.

What I'd like to do is set up an expression pedal to use a wah, and I'd want that to come before my analog stomps, right?

So should I run all of the front-end analog effects in the loop of the HX Stomp, and set up the routing internally with HX Edit?

Or is there a more recommended/easier way?

Basically I want to be able to pick & choose where the internal Line6 effects are in the chain when mixed with the external stomp boxes. So for instance, the wah/expression would be routed before comp/drive, but if I wanted to use something like a rotary mod; it would go later in the chain.

Hopefully this makes sense, and thanks for suggestions!

Use the effects loop: send and return.  In the effects loop you can add your favorite pedal(s).  And then you move the send/return position in your preset, so that in your case you have Wah, then effects loop send/return, then amp/cab, and then volume.

The only thing is that running gain pedals in your effects loop always introduces noise.  So my advice is to just find something in the HX Stomp.  There are plenty of choices.  I used to be one of those people who needed my particular distortion, but found my sound after a week or so.  So in short, a processor is meant to be run as a standalone device, unless you have something that is just so unique that Line 6 doesn't have a model for it.

You can definitely run your analog pedals in the HX Stomp's loop for more flexible routing. Set up the signal chain in HX Edit, placing the wah before your compressor and drive pedals. This way, you can position other effects, like rotary modulation, later in the chain. It allows for a versatile mix of Line 6 effects and your analog pedals. I love gaming and in recent days, I’ve been trying out Villento Casino for a while now. As someone who loves playing online games after work, I found it to be a pretty enjoyable site. I came across the Villento casino reviews Canada section on https://onlinecasinomanitoba.com/review/villento/ and it gave me the confidence to dive in. The games are easy to get into, and I like the variety. If you enjoy some casual gaming with the chance to win something extra, it might be worth checking out.

Thanks for the info, I will keep it in mind.
