HX One with Boss SY-200

Hi all,

I have just purchased the HX One for a small pedalboard with Fly Rig 5 v2 using the 4 cable method, and scrolling a small number of presets (6) with a Mission TT-2 footswitch. I tried it out tonight at practice and it works great!

A question for those more fluent in connecting external pedals to HX One. I have a Boss SY-200 synth pedal I want to add to this pedalboard to use from time to time. What would be the best location for this pedal? Directly after the HX One right before the FR5, before the HX One, or in the 4CM effects loop of my FR5 v2? Thanks for any help on this!

Oh man, that can get complicated since each of the devices has an fx loop. Hello option paralysis!

I'd try:

guitar -> SY-200

SY-200 Send -> Fly Rig In

Fly Rig Send -> SY-200 Return

SY-200 Out -> HX One In

Hx One Out -> Fly Rig Return

Fly Rig Out -> mixer / amp

This allows you to bypass the Fly Rig preamp with the SY-200 when playing synth.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply :-) I forgot to say that I would like to use the SY-200 at same time with the FR5, basically for thickening up quick guitar fills and intros in places.

My suggestion does what you want: it puts the FR5 preamp in parallel with the SY-200 so that you can mix the synth sound with the parallel RK5 sound in the SY-200. Set the SY-200's loop to send the direct (guitar) signal for this.
