DL4 MK II Note On MIDI Messages for Looper

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I've been searching online for this specific topic and how to use DL4 MK2 with a MIDI controller by sending note on messages and sadly there aren't any confirmed ways to deal with this issue. I managed to use cc messages with my looper pedal but that was not functioning well because of the parameters we can control with cc messages in MK2 was not well adjusted with the MIDI footswitch I was using.

So in my case I needed 4 fs to do the same job as if I am using DL4 as my looper, but I didn't want to lose the beautiful delay sounds that the pedal also has... Right now I integrated my MIDI controller to send note on messages according to ''Owner's manual's Controlling the Looper note on messages'' section.

I'm writing here because I didn't understand which data 1 message I was supposed to send to DL4 for it to understand my note on C - 1 message. In this case it's because Line 6 uses Yamaha's MIDI note spec, and online sources also shows different variations for sending midi too.

I managed to control my looper by setting data 1 parameter starting from ''0'' so it means C-1, and ''2'' is for D-1 and so...

I hope I was the only one had this issue bc of the way it's written down in the manual I didn't understand ''Note C - 1'' meant ''minus one''

So I entered as if I have to get it as C1 and it meant 24 on one source and 36 in the other...

I'm just hoping for people who goes through the same confusion to find an answer here...

Good luck!
