I am a newbie here. Before I am asking, I did a google search and an answer to it from 2017 is no longer available to view.

I also looked in the manual and did not find tap tempo, nor was not mentioned Control Assignments or Global assignments.

I put a delay on a channel and when I hit the tap tempo, the tempo does not change.  One would think tap would automatically be assigned and you would not have to do anything to make it work. So how do I assign tap tempo to always be assigned to the tap button.

Page 70 of the manual, Global Settings MIDI/Tempo:

Tempo Select
The “Speed” or “Time” parameters of all tempo-based FX can be set to a note value that follows Tap Tempo or the tempo set with Knob 6 (Snapshot BPM/Preset BPM/Global BPM). Choose whether the Helix LT tempo is stored and recalled with each snapshot, recalled with each preset, or is applied globally across all presets and snapshots. NOTE: Helix LT does not respond to pressing TAP at tempi lower than 40.0 BPM to ensure that multiple fast tap entries are recognized properly. You may still manually select a tempo as low as 20.0 BPM using this Tempo Select setting.

Attached is an example preset. Two delays, set to different tempos, one set using NOTE (1/4), the other set using TIME (600ms).

FS11 toggles between the two delays.

Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo>Tempo Select should be set to PRESET for this example.
