Line 6 GX - Playback working but no recording

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I connected Line 6 GX today with guitar cable plugged in. But forgot to plug other end of cable into guitar. On opening POD Farm 2 gave a static noise (since other end of cable was not plugged in). I promptly closed POD Farm and disconnected GX from PC.

On reconnecting with cable plugged into guitar, the audio output from GX works perfectly as a playback device, but in the Recording tab of Win10 sound control panel, I see no input registered. In POD Farm also no input is registered. The GX worked perfectly until yesterday with both input and output signals. It's not a USB port issue since I have a Rocksmith cable that perfectly registers all input via the same USB port.

It's also not a problem with GX hardware, since I have a UX2 as well. And the UX2 shows exact same behavior as GX. I also reinstalled the Line 6 driver just now (latest version) - the behavior persists. So I'm at a loss what's going on - the behavior is specific to Line 6 devices. Please help! Will be happy to share any logs/further info as you request.

Also, the Line 6 GX is set as default playback and recording device - with it being active and enabled in windows sound settings. The recording doesn't get registered in the windows sound settings itself, let alone POD Farm (so probably it's not a POD Farm issue). In POD Farm mixer settings, both "Send 1-2" and "Send 3-4" are set to dry input at 0.0 dB. Still no luck.
