BobWaters
Hey guys. Sorry for the noob post, but I’m just about to buy an Helix LT and only play/record at home. I use a Mac w/ garage band/Logic pro and I currently have a FocusRite Scarlett Solo 4th gen as my AI. Since I have my monitors connected to the Solo and I like the practical/small form factor + there’s a dedicated headphone volume control, I wanted to keep it to serve as the output. Both GB/Logic Pro allow me to select different devices for the input/output, so I could simply connected both the solo and the Helix via USB. What would be downsides of this setup? Would it be preferable to connect only the solo via USB and plug the helix into the solo’s input while keeping the monitors plugged into the solo’s outputs? I know this would mean losing the Helix’s DI track, but would it better sound wise? Thanks all in advance!
