Sawdust86
Hello, after Microsoft forced the update, I had to switch to Windows 11. Unfortunately, Pod Farm 2 now takes forever to load. It doesn’t matter whether I open the standalone version or the plugin. When I start Cubase for the first time after installing Pod Farm, I get a timeout message during plugin initialization, but if I wait long enough it eventually works. Opening any session now takes more than four minutes because of this Pod Farm issue. Has anyone managed to get Pod Farm running properly on Windows 11? I can’t open a support ticket because the support page is buggy, and I’ve also run out of lifetime activations. Hope you guys can help me out. OmniFace
I'm having the same trouble in Reaper. It takes like a full minute to scan the Pod Farm plugins. I like to use Pod Farm's Analog Delay in a lot of projects and this is being quite annoying.
james5272
I could be wrong. I just got POD Farm today, due to knowing it was basically a software version of a physical POD I had like two decades ago. I think the problem is (and afaik Line 6 doesn't make this apparent, nor is it reflected in the price), but POD Farm has been abandoned since 2015. Which if true and I'm not misunderstanding something (like you're supposed to run a different, maintained plugin to get access to the POD Farm stuff), is a real crappy thing to do. There is a specific tone I had used for a solo on a song, and my early stuff was recorded with that POD, so I was hoping I could have that more or less reattainable by using a software version of the same thing. It looks like Helix Native is their new thing, but I'm worried about them abandoning that at some point too and then having to pay hundres in US $ for their next big thing. And my favorite preset on that old POD was the EVH styled Eruption preset, which apparently Helix Native doesn't have. You can spend $15US on a preset addon that emulates his tone, but idk if that'd work with the software or just the hardware. And then if/when they abandon Helix Native like they did POD Farm, if the new thing doesn't come with the same stuff, you're probably waiting to be able to buy another preset. Also, I had a lot of issues with the support ticket system too. Tried 4 different browsers across 2 devices, eventually just kept opening new tabs in Edge and typing in my problem and hitting Search. When it finally worked it only took a few seconds. I was thinking I'd have to do my first chargeback ever for a while there. Knowing their support system is broken is also giving me hesitance on buying their POD Farm replacement IF I can get a refund. But they should just be porting effects to modern maintained plugins if they're going to abandon the old ones. This is what at least IK Multimedia has done. They have a Philharmonik plugin that hasn't been updated since 2020, but it's cuz you use Sampletank for its sounds instead, which is still updated. So while the Philharmonik plugin is dead, the new one gives you access to the same sounds and no loss of features. Just straight up killing stuff, then selling it like it still has support... the hell is that? When old games are on Steam that don't work without user fixes anymore, they're like $5 tops, cuz they aren't maintained anymore. This is a $120US plugin ON SALE. And it's DEAD for 10 years unless I'm not getting something. Even if I get a refund it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And I really want to find a way to use these sounds! But don't really want to reward this behavior either. I've bought probably at least 40 plugins from tens of companies since getting back into music production a year and a half ago. This is by far my worst experience in this realm. And from a company that has been around longer than most of these, and has stuff I would really like to use! Puts you in a bit of a pickle.
