Both amps+cabs WILL NOT be on at the same time. I'll have one amp+cab on for a lighter/cleaner sound, the second amp+cab I'll have on for a dirtier/gainy sound (I usually have a compressor block, overdrive block, EQ block, and a modulation block in the HX's signal chain) 2) is there a difference between using an amp+cab block and a separate amp block and cab block? Sonically that might not sound good if they are in the same signal path, but a dual path preset with both amps on can sound great. 2) Yes. One difference is signal routing. With Amp+Cab you can’t place FX blocks between the two. But tor my first question, I meant to say 2 amp+cab blocks not just 2 amps. I won't have them on at the same time. Is that fine? silverhead Posted March 26 Share Posted March 26 Yes, two amp+cab blocks can be used in a preset. Depending on the block choices they may not be able to be placed in the same path due to the DSP constraints that you mention. As I hinted earlier you should consider using a dual path preset. That will ensure you can do both. Using two amp+cab blocks in serial with both on will probably sound terrible. If placed in serial you will need to toggle them on/off oppositely. It is very common for two amp+cab blocks to be used in parallel, blending the levels as desired.
