Tame the Hum

I have unacceptable hum from my Pod Go.  I connect to a Fender FR-10 (FRFR) and the hum is too much.  It is not the FRFR, not the cords, not the USB etc.  With headphones, the hum is coming from the Pod Go.  When I turn off the IR/Cabinet, there is no hum.  Input gate on or off has no affect on the hum.   So.. my questions are:

Should I always be outputting at 0 db to reduce the hum?  (at a significant loss of volume)

Should I use a different IR?

Should each effect be limited to 0 dB?

Is my POD GO defective?

Of course, reducing the volume, reduces the hum  How do you keep the hum down without sacrificing volume?

Work with the noise gate to reduce hum.

Also, you might try changing the amp or tinkering with the controls, dialing back the treble a bit. Same with a distortion if you're using one.

Using a guitar with humbuckers helps, but I love my Stratocaster!

I always tell myself I won't hear the hum when the band gets going.

The noise gate has no affect on the hum.  Yes, I am using a humbucker guitar, which helps a lot.  Changing amps, reducing treble etc. will reduce the hum, but I am hoping that there is another way.  Right now, I just back off on the volume pedal between songs.   I’d rather just not have hum coming from the Pod Go.

Hi Bluesman27

I have a similar issue but the Guitar Input gate will get rid of the buzzing most of the time. Other things I've tried are a factory reset & reload the backup, worked briefly, reset the Global EQ, reducing EQ ouput gain and the amp channel output. The only time it doesn't buzz is when I connect to my computer with USB cable. It's really annoying as it never used to be a major problem until a few months ago. Different leads,  guitars (even a brand new POD Go!), still buzzes. Pups are DiMarzio Air Norton, Tone Zone on Ibanez S770 & S771. Regards Ian C; Hope you find a cure.
