PodHD pro X and HD 500 X Hd Model Packs

To my recent discovery the PodHD pro X and HD 500 X are no longer supported by line 6 monkey or line 6 license manager.

I recently bought both of these products to use in a current project and intended to use one for bass guitar and the other for rhythm guitar however I cannot purchase the HD model packs.

It would be amazing if Line 6 could release a revised 2.62 firmware unlocking the additional Amps and cabs you get from these HD model packs. Since these devices aren’t supported, why not provide a firmware that fully unlocks the device and all the add-ons become freeware.

I’m wondering if anyone has a solution to my problem of not being able to purchase these items. Both devices are updated to the current firmware however with line 6 license manager down, I can’t purchase and install these HD model packs.

While I can't help with the model packs...

The solution to using the device on bass is simple:

Plug in a bass and use it.

The 500 has a setlist for bass. Most people won't use default presets, but it gives some decent examples of where to begin.

In fact, long before the model packs existed, Ed Saxman created a popular bass setlist: https://line6.com/support/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=1677

Here is my own post about bass from 2014 when I was new to the unit like you are today in 2026

The people who paid for the model packs, especially those who just did it in March, would firmly disagree with this.

I can see, in maybe 5 years, it may be ok to do it. But not 2 weeks after they stopped selling them.

In fact, when the unit was nearing its end of production, they started including the model packs as an incentive to buy.

Many people we not happy about that.
