bswat60
Hi just wondering if I can connect the line6 1x12 ext cab and a 16 ohmn 5150 cab into the two 8 ohmn speaker outputs on dt25 head Thanks
phil_m
An 8 ohm cab in parallel with a 16 ohm cab would be an equivalent impedance of 5.3 ohms (the equation for figuring out the equivalent impedance of loads in parallel is 1/Z1 + 1/Z2 + .... 1/Zn = 1/ZTotal, n=number of loads). So you'd actually want to use the 4 ohm jacks. The rating represents the minimum impedance you should drive from the output. One thing with driving an imbalanced speaker load like this is that the the 8 ohm speaker will be receiving 4 times the power as the 16 ohm speaker. That doesn't necessarily mean it will be louder as other things affect that as well. But it could be.

bswat60
Being louder might not be a bad thing as I am using 5150 cab behind me and the 1x12 on floor angled facing me At least that's what I plan on trying haven't tried it yet work gets in the way Oh we'll thanks again
