anacondaq
Hi guys, i have a beltpack that is producing a lot of noise when a mic is plugged in. When a countryman B3 is in theres alot of noise, when i plug in a Rode HS1 there is slightly less noise and when i plug in a DPA there is no noise at all. All 3 work perfectly on another TPB12, Any thoughts? Could it be a dry solder in one of the connectors in the beltpack or something along those lines? Thanks Ben
dboomer
Could be. Or it could be dirty pins. Or it could be a bunch of other things. You'll just have to troubleshoot or send it in for service.
anacondaq
Not dirty pins or dry solder on the connector, any other suggestions? Service in AUS would likely cost the price of a whole new belt pack :/
dboomer
Is there noise when there is no mic plugged in? Is it noisy into all receivers?
anacondaq
No the noise floor is as any other pack with a mic unplugged and the noise remains with multiple receiver's. Weirdly, as i mentioned, it doesnt happen with the DPA mics, but does with the rode and countryman mics plugged in.
dboomer
Without having it to examine I can't think of a reason that would cause the problem.
