clay-man Posted September 5, 2014 Share Posted September 5, 2014 Pitch shifting will never sound truly as good as actually retuning the guitar with proper gauge strings. It sounds like Line 6 got around to adding proper formant/timbre preserving, which basically means it changes the pitch but preserves the frequency and harmonic response of the original signal. It makes it sound more realistic, like for instance, pitched up vocals sounds like a chipmunk, and with formant preserve, it fixes that and sounds natural.
