brywool
Hi, I want to use the looper live in a three piece. I can see where this'd be great for having a rhythm guitar part under a solo. Record the rhythm part, loop it, play the solo. Great! My issue is, when I engage the looper and hit "record", it records what I'm doing, but then I can't stop what I'm recording without triggering the recorded loop. If I hit the record button again, it starts playing the loop I just recorded. If I hit the play button, it does the same thing. Seems that while recording, there should also be a stop button so that I can record a section and use it later in the song. Is there a way to hit record, record the part and STOP recording so that I can then trigger the recorded loop at another time in the song? Basically, I'm trying to record verse chords so that I can use them later under the guitar solo.
silverhead
This requires two foot-taps. One to stop the recording, and a second to stop the playback which, as you describe, begins immediately when you stop recording.
brywool
But won't that immediately start the playback as if I was recording another layer on top?
silverhead
Not if you hit the right switch - either the A or B footswitch. One of them (can't remember which) just stops the recording and begins playback, the other stops recording and begins playback in Overdub (record a layer) mode. brywool
Yeah see, that's the issue. It stops then immediately starts the playback. What I want it to do is stop the recording and WAIT for me to hit play, not just start up right away. Is there no way to do this? There doesn't seem to be. To play a passage and then have to hit two switches is pretty difficult to do and stay in time with your band. I must be missing something. brywool
Aha! Found it in another post (finally). Use the UNDO button to record, and stop. Then push play when you need the sample.
